When a U.S.-based couple reached out to us to help furnish and style their newly purchased two-bedroom condo in the Philippines, their goal was clear: Create a home they could enjoy whenever they visit, and one that could easily be maintained or rented out when they’re away.

Designing a home remotely can feel daunting, especially when you can’t be there to manage every little detail. That’s where our Signature eDesign service, paired with Project Management + White Glove services, came in. Through this setup, our team handled everything from design planning and furniture sourcing to liaising with contractors and coordinating on-site installations.

Airbnb Interior Design Ideas for a Two-Bedroom Condo

Our Signature eDesign service focuses on light renovation work. Think refreshed layouts, functional built-ins, and select customizations that transform a space without the mess (or expense) of major demolition. It’s perfect for homeowners who want to give their unit a whole new look and feel while keeping within a practical budget.

For full gut renovations that involve reconfiguring layouts, replacing finishes, or major customization, we recommend our Remodel service, which always goes hand-in-hand with our Project Management and White Glove services to ensure complete coordination from design to turnover.

Before: A bare, builder-basic unit

The condo started as a typical developer-delivered unit: dark cabinetry, plain white walls, basic lighting, and no real personality. While functional, it didn’t yet reflect the calm and balanced home our clients envisioned.

They wanted a space that felt warm and cohesive, something simple enough for day-to-day living, but with thoughtful details that would make it feel like “theirs.”

From mood board to reality: A vision of calm and warmth

Every Gal at Home project begins with a mood board that translates a client’s preferences into textures, tones, and overall mood. For this condo, we leaned into neutral wood tones, taupe, and warm cream, punctuated by mustard yellow and deep red accents.

The result? A look that feels cozy yet modern, and homey but not heavy.

Alongside the mood board, we also provided our clients with a furniture plan and light plan, which became the roadmaps for all our decisions moving forward.

We also created a light plan to replace all the existing ceiling-mounted bulb receptacles.

The furniture plan helped us maximize the condo’s modest footprint while keeping traffic flow easy and natural. The light plan, meanwhile, upgraded all the builder-grade bulb fixtures to a mix of mount lights and a semi-flush ceiling light, giving the space a soft, even glow.

And since the project had to stay within budget, we sourced most of the furnishings from IKEA, Mandaue Foam, Nitori, Lazada, and Shopee. Proof that a cohesive, thoughtfully designed space doesn’t always need expensive materials.

Custom-built comfort and function

While most furniture pieces were purchased ready-made from retail, we also designed a few key custom pieces to make the most of the available space.

Condo kitchenette turned into U-shaped layout

The kitchen counter doubles as both a prep area and a visual divider between the kitchen and the living-dining space. We designed it with hidden fabric-covered storage underneath, a detail that makes stackable dining stools easy to tuck away.

The U-shaped banquette in the combined dining and living area was designed with lift-up storage under the seats, upholstered in light gray for a clean, tailored look. It connects seamlessly to the bar counter in the kitchen, creating one continuous and flexible zone for dining, lounging, or entertaining.

The dark wood paneling in the living area was refaced with a faux wall in a limewash cream finish, and punctuated with vertical wood slats and floating shelves. This provided a subtle architectural feature that gives visual warmth without making the space feel crowded.

Because the clients were overseas, we managed every stage of purchasing and coordination. Every chair, lamp, pillow, and planter was ordered, checked, and installed by our team before turnover day.

Warmth in every detail

We styled the condo with tactile, earthy textures: wooden frames, linen cushions, and clean-lined furniture pieces that invite you to sit back and stay a while.

Dining room setup with wall art

The palette we used veered away from the usual cool grays, instead leaning into warm neutrals like cream, taupe, and honey-toned wood. We layered these with deep red and mustard yellow for depth and contrast.

For the windows, we opted for linen-look combi shades in soft cream instead of layered blackout and sheer curtains, a cost-conscious choice that still achieved the warmth and light diffusion we wanted.

Restful retreats for the two condo bedrooms

For the main bedroom, we focused on calm and comfort. We kept the palette light with creams and taupes, and used a queen bed with bottom drawers for extra storage.

A floating shelf and wall-mounted lighting saved floor space and made the room feel airy.

Small workdesk and shelves in condo bedroom

The small work desk and shelf combination doubled as both dressing and work-from-home area, keeping the layout flexible for long-term guests or visiting owners.

The second bedroom was designed to be adaptable: a daybed with pull-out trundle turns the space from study to guest room in seconds. Warm terracotta and ochre accents add a cozy tone, and a small wall shelf provides just enough surface for essentials without cluttering the room.

These two rooms show how good planning, not more furniture, can make compact bedrooms feel open, comfortable, and welcoming.

Compact spaces with complete functionality

In the kitchen, we kept the layout simple but improved the function: more prep space, concealed storage, and open shelving for easy access to frequently used items.

The laundry room was fitted with a washer-dryer combo, new shelves and hanging racks, plus a wooden wall cabinet to keep detergents and supplies neatly tucked away.

In both bathrooms, we installed mirror cabinets, towel shelves, laundry hampers, and water heaters.

These small but essential upgrades added convenience and comfort to the tiny condo spaces, yet still provided enough space for long-term renters or Airbnb guests.

The end result: A home that feels lived in, even from afar

What started as a bare, impersonal condo is now a cohesive and inviting space that feels distinctly like home: calm, balanced, and completely move-in ready.

By blending custom-built solutions with practical, off-the-shelf finds, we achieved a thoughtful balance between form and function, all while our clients remained thousands of miles away.
